Dawn Miller is a contemporary colorist landscape painter based in St. Louis, Missouri. Her oil paintings dance between abstract energy and representational clarity created from layers of color. In what she calls, “a dawning vision”, abstraction falling into place.
Her first job was at a banner company hand drawing patterns. This included creating patterns for musical banners displayed by The Muny in St. Louis. That challenging work paid off as she was awarded scholarships and grants for her first art degree. In her early college years, she worked as a picture framer, which provided a wealth of knowledge about caring for her own work. She holds a MFA from Fontbonne University, St. Louis.
Miller has exhibited work in juried shows and exhibitions in the midwest including Angad Arts Hotel, Art St. Louis, and Foundry Art Centre. Her work is part of the collection at HavenHouse St. Louis. She was a featured artist on Artsy Shark.
Her works hang in private collections throughout the United States and internationally. She currently lives near St. Louis, Missouri where she maintains a full-time studio practice.
